Give a helping hand for poor people
We provide reasonably good accommodation and daily meals to the poor and meritorious students apart from the caste and creed. The building has 32 rooms and at present 100 needy and meritorions students from all sections at society, irrespective of caste or creed from the nook and corner of the State Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Gujrat are accommodated.
The hostel rooms are spacious and well ventilated. Each room accommodates 2 to 4 students depending on the size of the room. Each student is provided with a bed, a mattress, a table, a chair, a cupboard or shelf, light, fan, etc.
Library was established with the help of Rotary Club of jalgaon as Paul Harris Library, the founder of International Rotary Club. The facility is open not only to the student of the Samiti but to the residents of the surrounding area as well.
At present this new building has 32 rooms, a library having 17,000 books and one multi purpose hall of 2500 Sq. Ft. At present 100 needy and meritorious students from all sections of society, irrespective of caste or creed, from the nook and corner of the state of Maharashtra are accommodated.
In our hostel has a clinic where qualified doctors provide treatment for minor illnesses. Each student has to undergo a medical checkup once in each a year. We Provide free medical treatment to them. If required major treatment samiti provide funding to them.
Medical treatment is highly expensive. Taking it into account the health problems of lower class/ under previllage society, lokhit Dawakhana has been started. The Consultant fees is only Rs 10/- Several patients especially from lower economics strata considering the growing need og the socially and economically challenged masses we are planning to open more branches of this Dawakhana in the city and nearby areas.
Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil was a renowned patron of education who founded te Rayat Shikshan Santha for the spread of education among the masses. He was one of the pioneers who laid the foundations of education in Maharashtra. His Wife Laxmibai Patil generously donated even her own Mangal Sutra, the most sacred ornament for an Indian women, to meet the expenses of the educational institution started by Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil. So in the memory of her nobel sacrifice,the Samiti has started Laxmibai Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil Vidyarthi Sahayata Yojana in her name.
Since all the students from Samiti hostels come from poor families, Samiti has developed a network of well wisher individuals and commercial organizations that provide part-time work to the students. The work ranges from gardening, tuitions, helping elder citizens, office work to household work. Some students earn sizable income from big events held in Pune, such as Exhibitions, Cultural activities, annual Pune marathon, Ganapati festival, drama festival, etc. Earnings under this scheme substantially reduce the financial burden on the students’ parents.
